IDA team report for New Orleans Downtown Development District (DDD), "homeless issues."
- Ten short and six long term recommendations from IDA 2003 Draft Report,
summarized and evaluated below.
This team plans to meet with DDD and other New Orleans homeless service providers
on December 15 and 16, 2003.
- Brief summary of Draft Report based on a team visit (09/25-26/03) to
New Orleans, issued recently by IDA homelessness team.
- List of service providers showing that twenty-five (25), or ninety (90%) percent
of these facilities are located outside of the DDD.
Of the three (3) facilities remaining in the DDD, the Brantley House (a Baptist facility) plans to relocate out of the DDD as soon as possible.
That leaves only two Catholic facilities sitll located in the DDD:
- the Ozanam Inn, a Soup Kitchen & Emergency Shelter, 843 Camp Street, and
- the Immaculate Conception Day Center, 130 Baronne Street.
